Battery Replacement Tutorial

UPDATE - Please contact support@qwerkytoys.com about how to receive a replacement battery should we find it necessary!
The Qwerkywriter has one of the long lasting batteries for many months of use with out the need for recharging.  But should your battery ever go bad, it's a simple process for you to replace the battery.
Tools you will need
  • Flat Plastic Card (old credit card will do)
  • Flat Head Screw Driver
  • High Quality Philips Screw Driver
Remove the Screws - Please use a HIGH QUALITY Screw Driver.  Using cheap dull screw driver can damage the Qwerkywriter screws permanently striping the thread.  Sometimes using a flat head and gently twisting it can also work, instead of a Philps.
Then gently remove the battery.  It's got a sticker to hold it in place.  You may need to use a credit card or a flat plastic object to remove it.  Try to NOT use metal screw driver as you may scratch the Qwerkywriter.
Don't pull too hard since it's still attached to a socket!
The battery cables are inside a 2 pin socket - you have to gently wiggle them out.  Don't pull directely.  Just gently wiggle side to side and it should come right off.
Now grab your NEW battery
The trick here is to get the socket lined up.  Please note the GROOVE on top.  That side is UP.
Gently line it up and stick it in.  You may need a flat head screw driver
Now you are done!  Carefully screw back in the back plate.  It should last many many years! :)

Where would you buy a replacement battery and for how much? I do not see it advertised on the website.

@NACHTVOGEL Thanks for your inquiry. The Battery on the Qwerkywriter is built to last a very very long time. But in case you need to replace them in the future, you can. Now you can also use the Qwerkywriter without a battery as long as the Qwerkywriter is plugged in via USB cable that’s being powered. Hope this helps!
