REFURBISHED BLACK GOLD QWERKYWRITER® US Layout

I hesitated before purchasing this but it has absolutely been worth it: thoughtful design, delightfully clicky keys, the clever inclusion of a carriage return (mapped to enter/return on macOS and probably elsewhere), ease of use, the way it holds an iPad or tablet or phone securely... I learned touch typing on a manual typewriter and I still love my manual typewriters, but the Qwerkywriter makes computer/device typing a joyous luxury, and I love that too!

100 💯

I expect you can find similar style keyboards for less money but they'd also be less valuable. This thing is stunning and just so much fun. The lever for enter, the sounds of the keys, even the way it looks is inviting to use. Five stars and great job to the people making it!

Impressive quality — using this writing instrument has inspired just over 80 pages of journaling in just the past month… I cannot wait to compose my memoir on it. Couldn’t be more satisfied!

It's a beautiful keyboard with the gold accents. The "clickity-clack" makes typing fun and anything that can add some fun to a long work day is greatly appreciated. I'm enjoying using it and haven't even utilized all of the features like the tablet holder, return bar or side wheels. I need to get used to adding those into how I navigate. Would highly recommend this keyboard. It seems well-built, gets many compliments from clients (how many keyboards get noticed like this!) and is a pleasure to use.

BLACK GOLD QWERKYWRITER® US Layout Limited is a precisely made retro keyboard. I created a "retro corner" on my desk. Retro alarm clock, retro pipe, retro wooden watch, retro phone from the forties. Absolute nostalgia. I often write on the keyboard while studying books. The experience cannot be described. It is a noble beauty. I did not look at the money. I looked at the dream. With the qwerkywriter keyboard, you will enjoy writing. Qwerkywriter is a lifestyle. Qwerkywriter is connected to the android e-ink reader boox. BLACK GOLD QWERKYWRITER® US Layout Limited Store Exclusive

Nothing has invigorated my writing experience nearly as much as bringing this typewriter into my life.

He loves it. Typing on it is so nice Loves the black and gold.

Amazing product!

Got my husband this for Christmas, and EVERY MALE IN THE FAMILY surrounded it and touched it like they had never seen a keyboard in their life. I probably sound like a paid ad but I am not, I was ALSO oooing and awwing, the product just begs you to touch it, and when you do it is SO SATISFYING.

The nicest keys I have ever typed on. Actually reminds me of what a typewriter used to feel like. Love the return key bar in chrome and the scroll knob like you are moving paper on a typewriter. Hoping to get the accessory numeric pad soon when it becomes available. I loved this keyboard so much I bought another one for my office.

Awesome keyboard; many great comments from co-workers.

If you want old school typing experience and want to feel more confidence with your writing this keyboard is for you. I have tried over ten different keyboards and this one is hands down the best made and has the best response for you as a writer etc. I bought two and their num pad and excellent wrist rest. You won't be disappointed. 5 star plus.

Works beautifully too. It's everything I expected & more. I haven't tried the Bluetooth options yet, but so far, everything is working well & the key touches are perfect. My fingers learned quickly. Best gift!

This is a great accessory or a gift, but there is one thing about it that pisses me off: you can’t see the charge. Beside it, everything is fine

The keyboard is very good im using it now to write my scripts for my YouTube Videos and its pretty good. The only thing keeping it from a 5 star is the materials used. For that price a person expects more

I had a QuerkyWriter years ago and dropped/broke it. I went back to several others but none is as satisfying! Except maybe my 1947 Smith Corona Silent typewriter on the days it’s feeling good. But not for computer input!

feels very premium, acts as a centrepiece on my home desk setup. loving every inch of it. the battery’s amazing, the feel’s amazing. worth every penny :)

My hands shake uncontrollably. This QWERTY Writer meets all my physical needs & more. A joy & pleasure top type on. No other keyboard even comes close to it.

Only things to add would bey Red or Gold fancy pinstriping & embellishments to highlight various areas, perhaps an Airbrushed Red Rose on sides, & an evgraved Gold plate on the back with owner's message or logo. QWERTY Toys could make a fully tricked out display model for show on social media, YouTube, etc, to see public reaction. The QWERTY WRITER Black Gold is an outstanding machine. Nothing even comes close to equalling it.

Thank you QWERTY Toys for this Fabolous machine!

Excellent construction, gorgeous details, and that perfect typewriter feel (and sound!). It makes me so happy every time I use it - and definitely adds to making my home office look super classy.

The typewriter/keyboard arrived well-packaged and visually stunning. Its metal core structure and durable plastic keys are impressive. The carriage return, functioning as an ENTER key, works smoothly. While the sound is less intrusive than traditional typewriters, I wish the typing keys were of higher quality, as the plastic ones may wear out over time. Metal keys would have been a better option. Despite this, I rate it a solid 9/10 (4.5/5).

I had to wait, to write this review, since it was a Xmas Gift for my SO. The design is amazing. It looks and feels almost like an authentic typewriter. It also, has the ability of being Bluetooth wireless, for your tablet or phone, or going USB for your desktop. 10/10 would definitely be recommend, for you antique enthusiasts

Hi, I received my Qwerkywriter here in Australia surprisingly fast after ordering. It came accompanied with a personal letter from the CEO ( i had asked for him to sign mine). The packaging was great and serves as a secondary storage.

I love my new writing tool. The combination of mechanical perfection with the ease of the bluetooth and usb connections make for a trouble free experience. The carriage return bar is my favourite feature. The two rollers are great as well. I'm glad I chose the gold and black model as it gives me a great feeling of connection and joy to enable my best writing.

I waited until the Qwerkywriter arrived and then I ordered an Apple iPad (10th generation) to go with it. In a portrait orientation it resembles a slightly smaller version of the original typewriter with a page loaded and ready to go.

I've never been able to type faster than 55 wpm so my warm up task for the new Qwerkywriter is to use the free Typist app available for MacOS.

Thank you for providing such a unique and high quality product.

The touch and feel of the typewriter is exactly what I wanted. The look is beautiful and aesthetic. The customer service experience was ideal -- I forgot to enter in a promo code at checkout, but I emailed the customer service team for a refund and they promptly fulfilled my request.

A nice keyboard, nice construction, I like the macro bar arm. Definitely gives it a typewriter feel. The keys are also quite retro and have a close approximation typewriter feel. However they don't quite make it because of the switch itself. But this is the closest your going to get with a switch configuration.
My only criticisms would be that you cannot change the switches, I understand why but it would of been nice if you could of had the hot swappable option. Lighter than I expected. I thought the keyboard itself would of been heavier. great for traveeling though. If the keyboard could have the option of buckling springs and the keys themselves could be made into a stepped configuration, It would definitely give the overall feel of an old school typewriter.

Still a nice option if your looking for that retro look and close feel but does lack a few things as stated above. However for all of that still a nice product.
Hope these considerations can be taken into account in the future.

The Qwerky Writer is a fantastic addition to my desk.
For my job, I am required to use two computers. [One computer I don't do much typing on.]
I also carry a smart phone which easily connects with the Qwerky Writer. The keyboard can connect up to 3 devices wirelessly and one device through a wired connection for a total of 4.

As to the connecting process, it is very easy. Note, I had to purchase Bluetooth adapters for my pcs.
Also, during start up there are some issues with the Qwerky Writer dropping the signal to the keyboard. This issue is not unique to the Qwerky Writer, it is just the nature of working with a Bluetooth Keyboard.

The classic aesthetics of the keyboard, is why most of us are here. It does not disappoint in that perspective. The hidden functionality, is also great.

I do find it a bit baffling that the "default" is to have the scroll on the left, and the volume on the right wheels. However, a quick "fn" + "w" changes that oversight.

The built in tablet stand is very nice. It has padding in the valley, but really no padding on the walls. If you use a bump case this is a non-issue. Just know there is a nice firm foam pad hidden in the tablet holder.

The keyboard has a nice weight to it. It doesn't shift while typing.

There are some cons, but it doesn't merit any removal of stars, since this is simply nitpicking issues:

1) They have the right shift key has been shortened dramatically.
2) There is no "insert" key, which is a blessing since that controls if typing either bumps over a letter or deletes it.
3) I don't know if I like having the "Home" "Pg Up" "Pg dn" "end" "(right arrow)" all in the same column. However, it does make sense to keep the footprint of the typewriter small.

Overall, the Qwerky Writer in gold, is the perfect addition to my desk. If you are at all on the fence, I recommend you "pull the trigger" I think you will be glad you did.

I looked for a long time to find a typewriter-style keyboard in the black and gold color palette. I could only find ones that only partially met my expectations (wrong color, bluetooth connectivity only, etc.). I came across the Qwerkywriter keyboard via social media and at the time, the keyboard was sold out. I was notified when they came back in stock and jumped on the chance to get one. While it's a hefty price for a keyboard, it is so worth it - I have no regrets! The only minor thing is that the left alt and Windows keys are switched, which has taken some getting used to; however, it's not enough to make me dislike the keyboard. I love that it can be plugged in or bluetooth connected and that the numkey addition means I get a full keyboard. The quality is fantastic, aesthetic is beautiful, and tactile/audio typing experience is enjoyable. I'm hoping to enjoy it for a long time, and it's really made me love typing again.
