Appearance alone should win most people over. Add the solid key feel, and build quality, and it's an "out-of-the park" home run! The ease of USB pairing, the programmable return lever, and the clever design to mimic a rubber platen roller; all make this keyboard rise above the cut-rate competition. Highly recommended.

I've wanted this FOREVER and finally decided to get myself one for my birthday. It's everything I hoped for. The sound and feel of the keyboard is perfect, and the ease of setup is simple.

Many years ago, I had collected two vintage typewriters I loved: an Underwood No. 5 and an Underwood No. 6. I used to love the tactile feel and the sound of typing on them. Life and moving got in the way of my being able to keep them so they both had to be sold. Recently a friend offered to sell me a Underwood Noiseless, but we had no space for it. And then I saw the Qwerkywriter in an add on Facebook. After researching it, I bought it and I love this thing. It looks great and feels and works beautifully. And pairing it with the Hanx Writer app on my iPad takes it to the next level typing experience. BRAVO!

Reminds me of the old Royal Typewriter that I typed my first real story on many years ago at age 9. Brings back loads of memories and very easy to use. I have recommended it to many people who miss the click of the old keyboard

Don’t know else to say. I love the feel and sounds of this keyboard.

Have both my devices Bluetooth’d. Had to redo each, but am still learning and don’t use everyday. I love the typewriter feel again to write posts and stories. Keep up the good work.

So I NEVER review products I buy. This is a first, because it's that good. I've just completed a 130k novel using my Qwerkywriter and it's delivered in ways I needed, and in ways I didn't know I needed.

It's a brick - I can stab those keys in the most satisfying way. The keys are large, easy to find, and always in reach. Ergonomically it's perfect.

It's secret weapons are the typewriter arm and the rotating knobs which I use ALL the time. I've set up the arm to trigger my left side panel in my Obsidian App - my go to writing app of choice. And the scrolling knob makes surfing through pages of text easy, precise and has saved my mouse wheel finger from dying on me.

Yes, it was the most expensive keyboard I've ever bought - with shipping added. But it was worth every cent. And it's got many more novels in it. Thank you Qwerkywriter team.

When I purchased the BLACK CHROME QWERKYWRITER, I expected a beautifully designed, retro-keyboard, and it absolutely delivers on that. The nostalgic circular black keys accented with chrome, the satisfying clack of the mechanical switches, the bold red TAB and DEL keys, and of course the metal body, combine into something truly special. Honestly, striking.
The programmable return lever and side-knobs are personally my favorite features. They are also surprisingly functional (I set mine for page-breaks). It’s a product that feels crafted by someone who cares about that nostalgic experience.

But for me, this keyboard is much more than its aesthetics or build quality.
I bought it because I needed something to make typing on my big sister’s iPad more comfortable. She passed away on May 14th of this year to breast cancer. She was my best friend, my entire world. We were writing a novel together, and continuing that story has become one of the ways I cope and stay close to her. Her iPad holds many of her notes and ideas, and it means a lot to me to keep writing on it.

I am all-thumbs when it comes to touch screen devices but this keyboard has made it manageable. It’s not just a tool, it’s a bridge between me and my sister’s world. Each time I use it, it feels like I’m writing alongside her again. That’s something I can’t put a price on, and I’ll always be grateful for it.

Thank you, QWERKYWRITER, for creating something that’s not only functional and beautiful but for me, deeply meaningful.

product delivered as advertised. learning to get back to some of the key placements, but overall a great product. love the tactll feel. the look on the desk top is classic

With the Qwerkywriter, you make less mistakes have have more accuracy to focus on the writing and less on the editing when mid-session.

It took me a bit of practice to get back to the keying techniques of a typewriter to use this keyboard, but I'm happy I made the effort. The keystroke clicks and the feel of the typewriter styled keys are both distinctive and oddly satisfying as I work. I am very happy with my purchase and recommend this item to anyone who's spent time pounding away on a manual typewriter in their youth. If you never did that sort of thing, then you might be better off sticking to modern keyboard technology; I do have to pause occasionally to find a computer function key in the compact layout of this keyboard, so I think a seasoned operator would be frustrated by that issue.

I love the sounds, the look and the nobs. The amount of information on the website made buying and setting up feel really user friendly.
Only thing of note: I wanted to make the return bar into an alt-tab key, but that function doesn't work the way I wanted. When I tried to program it, it just swaps between the two windows closest. I have needed to abandon this, sadly. It would great if they had blog posts or some way of finding out what other people have done with their customised return bar settings.
I would love if the made a single keyboard with the full layout someday. I'd buy that is a heart beat.

I have wanted the keyboard for YEARS a I have not used it too much yet but I love it! The feel and feedback is so much better than using a much more ‘common’ keyboard. I use a Mac and the Apple keyboards just don’t feel the same. I love the feedback and the retro look so much! I learned to type on an actual vintage/antique typewriter my grandparents had and I loved it so much and this is simply wonderful.

I learned to type on a manual typewriter and I truly enjoy the feel of the keys clicking. The keyboards are awkward to use and the Apple Keyboard is even more awkward. The Querkywriter is the best of both worlds for me.

This makes me feel like I’m on real typewriter. It connects easily to my MacBook Pro. The design is sleek and it has some surprising features like the “Home” key.

Punching keys to get the words out can be exciting and exhilarating when the flow is there. When the MUSE shows up, a writer can spend hours in the blink of an eye creating worlds. However, when the well starts to run dry, it’s a miserable feeling. However, when your fingers fill the keys, your ears hears the sounds, your mind becomes engaged. I’ve trained myself to summon the MUSE every time I use the QWERKYWRITER keyboard. It triggers creativity and I’ve been able to finish my novel and are half way done through the first draft of my current screenplay with the help of this typewriter. It’s even encouraged me to go LIVE ON INSTAGRAM “writing session” where I showcase the typewriter and people love to hear its song. If you’re serious about writing, this is not a toy, not a tool, but an investment into a writing pattern that, to top if all off, looks stunning when not in use.

I bought this keyboard, with a case, for my work and it has made typing so much fun. I am a major retro lover/history buff and using my "typewriter" scratches that itch perfectly.

best

It’s beautiful, quirky and very functional! I’m really thrilled.

This is a Christmas Present so I don’t have feedback yet.

I think it's been at least 4 years since I first heard about the Qwerkywriter. I thought it was a great idea especially since I learned to type on a manual typewriter in high school. I couldn't convince myself to splurge on such a luxury so I waited and watched and read the emails from Qwerkywriter. I love to write and I actually enjoy handwriting, but at times it is a bit much. Recently I was working on a project with my handwritten pages all over my table. I checked my email, and I was surprised to see Qwerkywriter in my inbox! This time I decided it was a necessity, not a luxury. I like that I can use my smartphone writing app, and not have to purchase a tablet! I do have to remove my smartphone case for it to fit, but not a big deal at all. The whole experience is enjoyable with Qwerkywriter! I bought the black chrome Qwerkywriter, carrying case, and wrist pad rest. The carrying case is excellent quality, and holds the wrist pad rest, USB cord, and shoulder strap. The wrist pad rest is comfortable. If you prefer a typewriter look and feel instead of a computer keyboard, this Qwerkywriter is for you also! Pure enjoyment each time I use it! Thank you, Qwerkytoys! Brilliant!

This was certainly one of the best investments I could have made! The Black Chrome QWERKYWRITER redefined the concept of digitized writing by adding beauty, quality and originality in it! It's not just a writing device, it's art ! I'm very very glad with this gift for myself !
Thank you !

The steampunk futuristic-retro vibe is worth every penny. Not cheap plastic but strong metal, it will last me for years to come.

I have been using mechanical keyboards for years now, and this is my favorite one yet. the feel of the keyboard is properly weighty, with a mostly metal construction and features galore. Not only is it stylistically satisfying as anything, but it's a joy to use, and the build quality very much justifies the cost.

In my childhood, I had a typewriter. This model emulates the feeling of the old hardware and works flawlessly.

Qwerkywriter is awesome. I am using it in my office with my PC, and I am very satisfied.

I gave the Black Chrome QWERKYRITER as a birthday gift. The recipient is very excited and greatful. This gift was a request... with enthusiasm and excitement this gift exciseds the recipients expectations!!! They plugged it in to charge and begin to write their great American novel :)
