BATTERY REPLACEMENT TUTORIAL
Tools you will need
- Flat Plastic Card (old credit card will do)
- High Quality Phillips-head Screwdriver
- Pen or Pencil
1 . Remove the Screws
Flip over your Qwerkywriter S and locate the battery cover.
Using a Phillips head screwdriver, remove two screws holding down battery cover.
To make unscrewing easier, push top of screwdriver down with your palm while turning screwdriver. Higher quality screwdriver will make unscrewing easier and damaging screws less likely.
2 . Loosen battery from adhesive sticker
There is double sided tape securing the battery to the Qwerkywriter S. Use a credit card or a flat plastic object to remove it.
DO NOT USE METAL TOOLS TO REMOVE BATTERY! DO NOT PUNCTURE BATTERY!
Metal can puncture the battery which will harm and cause damage.
3 . UNPLUG BATTERY CABLE
The battery is connect via wire to the Qwerkywriter S.
Use your fingers to grab and pinch as close to where the wire meet the socket.
Gently pull away horizontally, avoiding pulling up. Slowly increase pulling pressure and gently wiggle side to side.
4 . Plug in new battery
On your new battery, locate the top of plug which has a ridge in the middle.
Bend the wire to a curve to make aligning plug to socket easier.
Place plug into socket just enough so that the plug stays in place.
Use fingernail, eraser end of a pencil, or tip of a plastic pen(make sure pen is retracted or you’ll get ink on the plug), at the edge of the plug to push fully into the socket.
5 . Assemble back together
Remove protective film from new battery adhesive
Place battery adhesive side down and press across entire battery to fully attach adhesive
Tuck excess cable into keyboard making sure cable is out of the way for metal plate to screw down
Place metal plate back on and screw down
